Floyd William “Bud” Woten, 75, of Orange City, FL passed away peacefully August 28, 2016 at his home in Black Mounatin, NC. Bud was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on November 6, 1940 to the late Pearl Floyd Woten and Myrtle Anna Evans Woten.
Bud went to school at Ottumwa High School and Miami Dade Community College. He was a US Veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. He went on to work with Florida Power and Light for 32 years and was a member of Orange City United Methodist Church.
Bud is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Marie Lewis Woten; children, Rickey Woten (Michelle) of North Glenn, CO, Shelli Simonton of Aurora, CO, Robert Woten of Longwood, FL, Thomas Woten of Black Mountain, NC and Dale Woten (Wendy) of De ltona; siblings, Connie Longnecker (James) of Rockford, IL, Dixie Wright (Jim) of Ottumwa, IA, Linda Staples (Patrick) of Hastings, NE and Terry Woten (Renate) of Rottendorf, Germany; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kimberly, Marc, Rickey, Sean, Patricia, Tyler, Stefan, Cody, Andrea, Autumn, Ariana, Kegan, Brady and Hope and eight great grandchildren.
Two services will be held.
A Celebration of Bud’s Life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11am at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, 26 Bald Mountain Baptist Church Rd., Black Mountain, NC.
A second Celebration of Bud’s Life will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11am at Orange City United Methodist Church in Orange City, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martha’s Cupboard at Orange City United Methodist Church, 396 E. University Ave., Orange City, FL 32763 in his memory.
